2022 Montsablé Pinot Noir Pays d'OC

The entry for this wine is not only missing, but it's spelled wrong and reuses the weird sausage pizza recipe from another oddly listed wine! I'm not about to remake that bad boy, so we suffer in hunger and confusion, montsablérs. The wine itself is pretty interesting. Very watery on first sip, then immediate cherry vibes, then a strong "finish" with heavy acid. I think I like the uniqueness but the taste (or really aftertaste) is a little much for me, especially with the throat burning. Such is life in France, maybe!

2020 Montsablé Pinot Noir

This was alright. It wasn't my first go on the Montsablé train, so it gave very much "Old Reliable" energy, even though I still don't have allergy info or anything. Just that I've had a few now and been fine. Also, a very distinctive look, a screw top, and an uncomplicated flavor. I'd say it's nice. Too bad about the suggested pasta with pistachios, looks tasty.

2018 Montsablé Chardonnay

I am sad to report that I couldn't make the suggested carbonara recipe pairing because I don't want to pay to subscribe to BA. Ah well. The wine was still okay. Tart and sour, but not SUPER tropical-fruity like some whites. Acidic but not "thin". Not my favorite, but better when cold.

2018 Montsablé Grenache

Is this my first montsablé? I guess I put it off since I couldn't find any allergy info. But now that life is normalizing (or was, until recently), I had the nerve to go for it. And dang! It had a huge tangy factor. Very fruity/jammy but also extreeemely acidic. Not pleasant at first sip. Maybe I just let it sit for too long? Anyway, once it was cold it turned into much more of a typical red, and I was able to finish it, but the first reaction was definitely a negative one.
