Kellogg's Cocoa Loops

Who wanted this!? Then again, I bought it, so joke's on me. I can't resist a cartoon bird mascot with a rainbow beak. I guess I was expecting/fearing some Froot taste, but luckily there isn't any, these are a totally different thing. Aesthetically I approve; the box is a nice dark purple and the loops are much darker in color than I would have guessed. True cocoa in these loops. Taste-wise they're a miss. Not horrifying, but like a denser cocoa puff with a strange, hard-to-place aftertaste. Paper? I dunno. It does make the milk chocolatey, and they do have a crunchy Froot Loop texture, so I guess I see why these are getting decent reviews. But maybe I don't miss chocolate all that much because I hardly yearn for more (of these).

Froot Loops with Marshmallows

Froot Loops must really be having an identity crisis with all these variants. Luckily, this one is just regular froot loops with some bad chewy marshmallows thrown in. In my opinion, you might as well just have regular froot loops. But the loops are sweet and crunchy and pleasant, so I still enjoyed it. I think I had a non-cereal jumbo snack version of these a while ago, actually. Those were fine also.

Froot Loops Rainbow Sherbet Scoops Cereal

That's right, this is a trashy packaged food that is brain diet approved! No citrus, no raisin, no choco, only Weird Chemicals That Make It Feel Cold (=calcium carbonate, apparently). Heck yeah. Do I have a will to live again because I bought this cereal, or did I buy this cereal because I have a will to live again? It is almost unknowable. Anyway, this has terrible reviews, which excites me. It's a normal size box (6 servings aka 3 servings) and was on super sale, presumably because of the terrible reviews. But it isn't bad, it's just weird. Not much relationship to froot loops except the color, they taste very generic sweet cereal ball. But they do have a cooling sensation! It's weird! And it goes in the milk, too! Quite a novelty. Did it need to exist? I grew up in the era of purple ketchup, so if you ask me: yes it needed to exist. It didn't taste minty, but I guess some people thought it did because that's the only cooling sensation their tiny minds can comprehend (just kidding... kinda). Not really delicious and certainly not nutritious, but I still enjoyed it. I daresay I'd enjoy it even if it weren't the first trashy food I've had in a hot minute.

Froot Loops with Spooky Marshmallows

These are the same spooky marshmallows as in the spooky apple jacks -- small chewy white ghosts, weird for their texture but fine enough. One thing I don't like about this version of Loops is that they're only orange and purple colored ones. Now I suspect all the colors taste the same, but you still have a sense that Maybe They Don't, and so just two colors is less fun. Plus the orange look like apple jacks, so it's not very unique. They taste just like Froot Loops though. Do they go with marshmallows? Not particularly. But froot loops are good so this is good too, even though it doesn't add anything.

Willy Wonka Froot Loops (with berry-licious magic milk!)

Wait, these are spelled frOOt loops? I'm mandala-effecting myself here, because I thought that's what I thought, but was wrong. But I was...right? Yikes. This really is magic milk. OK, so, I like plain froot loops, but these are weird. The look is bad: they look like they have specks of dirt, bugs, or, charitably, poppy seeds in them. The smell is not promising: they smell like berry or bubblegum medicine. Not the horrible medicine, the tasty medicine, but still - medicine. And finally, the taste is basically froot loops proper but with some strong blueberry-muffin flavor added in. It isn't as bad as the look and smell made me fear, but it isn't an upgrade on the OG by any means. The milk was fine, but it wasn't particularly colored or special. Do better, Willy!

Froot Loops with Marshmallows Jumbo Snax

This is a weird thing. It's like 5 large-ish loops and 6 Lucky Charms marshmallows. It is a snack and not cereal. It tastes good, but it is so insubstantial. Also, there aren't marshmallows in Froot Loops, and that's weird. They are tasty though. Maybe froot loops are better than I remember. Or they put extra sugar on these ones. Not sure.
