2020 Ventisquero Merlot Reserva

Similar to the 2019 variety, this was a nice classic red! I guess I'm a merlot girl in the end. Nothing crazy going on, but it was solid and drinkable (although may have given me a headache!). I paired it with the One Pot Pasta, which was better than I expected but not amazing. Better as leftovers, maybe, just like this wine!

2019 Ventisquero Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva

Unfortunately, I took a little bit too long of a time before I wrote this review, and I don't remember this wine anymore. My notes were "good, yummy" so I guess I liked it well enough. It's got a screwtop, which I always appreciate. No other notes for today!

2018 Ventisquero Pinot Noir Reserva

This was pretty solid for me. A little bit sweeter and thinner than my preferred Merlot, and maybe a little bit tarter too, but not terrible. I like reds now!

2019 Ventisquero Merlot Reserva

I really enjoyed this one! Maybe I really do prefer reds to whites after all. I thought the first sip was very tasty -- just a classic warm tingly red. Cherry notes. Nothing too acidic or smoky. Nice stuff.

2020 Ventisquero Chardonnay Reserva

This was a fine chardo. Pretty fizzy, thin, a little acidic, tropical fruity, sweet. It was OK warm and cold, but maybe a little degraded cold. I think now I'm in a red-wine mood, so this didn't impressa me much, but it was totally fine. Screw top is good, weird hanging label tag is weird, allergy info is nonexistent, recommended food pairing is fishy. So it goes!

2020 Ventisquero Sauvignon Blanc Reserva

This looks classy, doesn't it? No allergy info though. But a screw top with a little label sticking out, I do like that. Now that I'm in a bit of SauviB routine, I can compare this directly to its peers, and I'd say that taste-wise, it comes out looking pretty good! It was slightly sweeter and less acidic than other SBs, although it had the same basic tropical fruit flavor profile. Maybe a bit less "guava" and more "limon", which I like. Similar vibes warm and cold, which I also like. Solid 2-nighter.
