Hanover Frozen Asparagus Spears

Finally, a veg! For some reason, I have a memory of (some??) Hanover veggie having a peanut warning, but I couldn't find any record of this online or in my blog tome, so maybe it was something else. Anyway, these are fine. Not as good as real asparagus, but we're in PA, so, no veg box and no real asparagus. Wet and fine. Could do worse!

Hanover Air Fryer Southwestern Style Broccoli

I bought this on sale, and I can see why it was that way. I did use the microwave, which is probably the least tasty prep, but also there's a weird plasticcy taste which I think would be there regardless. It's also spicy, so that's disconcerting. Smells kinda bad too. Upon eating, there were bites I liked -- the texture is good, firm and wet, and some bites even reminded me of chinese food broccos for that. But the seasoning isn't quite my bad. Spicy but also...sweet? And tomato/BBQ vibes? It's weird. I wish this was just spice and not the other stuff.

Hanover - Candied Sweet Potatoes

I miss the old canned yams of my childhood (alas), but these are an OK substitute, albeit much more annoying to prepare and slightly less tasty, and more firm. As a side dish in a small amount, they are a welcome addition to a holiday meal, but on their own they're very ehhhhh. So plan wisely, friends!
