Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Milk & Cookies

Ice cream party! This is 140 calories per serving, aka ~600 calories per pint. Not terrible, about half of your usual B+J's pint really. However, you can taste the difference. Not in a bad/gross way, and I'm happy that the ingredients are normal, not sugar substitutes or anything, but the ice cream is less creamy, melts faster, and the mix-in cookie dough is good and in bigger clumps than normal, but has a way more mild flavor - no vanilla or egg taste or even chocolate chips, just like a generic cookie flavoring or some cap'n crunch cereal, eyes closed I wouldn't know. I still ate this, and if I were addicted to ice cream or something I'd get this more often, but if I'm going all in on ice cream I'll just get the real deal (or half baked froyo style).

Ben & Jerry's Caramel Chocolate Cheesecake Truffles

Every word in the name of the ice cream is something I find delicious, so I was pretty pumped for this one. And, you know, it was good (but not great). I liked the cheesecakey caramel ice cream, it tastes like cream cheese and is very sweet and decadent. I also like the chocolate cookie (read: oreo) swirl throughout. But the truffles aren't as good as I hoped; they're covered in graham cracker bits (should be chocolate!!) and are basically low-fat cream cheese balls, no sugar (or so they taste). I know the rest of the ice cream is super sweet, but much like the coffee one, I want the truffles to be the highlight here and they simply are not. More like a jello single-serve lunch treat mixed with ice cream.

Ben & Jerry's Chillin' the Roast Truffles

I love coffee and truffles so I was pretty AMPed for this one. The ice cream base is a nice, smooth coffee flavor. It has little flecks in it like vanilla bean and tastes great. The fudge swirls, where they happen, are good and taste like....fudge swirls. However! The "truffles" are a super-duper strong rum(?) flavor, which is very bitter and actually not good! They also look like chocolate covered orbs of nut butter, which freaked me out. But they aren't, they're bitter rum coffee death orbs instead! I wish it was just cookie dough or something. Somehow I felt like a badass for choking them down, but I'd rather be a meek mill cookie dough eater. There were fun textures and a really nice coffee flavor overall though.

Ben & Jerry's Oat of this Swirled Ice Cream

So, there's really no such thing as a bad ice cream, especially from Ben and Jerry's. This obviously tastes good. It tastes like the sweet cream inside of those oatmeal cookie sandwiches, but with heavy notes of cinnamon and brown sugar, as well as some fudge flakes. For me, though, the brown sugar/cinnamon vibe is a little heavy, especially if you're looking to eat maybe more than one serving at a time ( ha ha, who would ever though, right?). It's also ultimately not chunky enough for my preference, which is one of the perks of Ben and Jerry's usually. So it's good and if you like that cinnamon sugar biscoff vibe, I bet you'll like this. But I'm more of a One Sweet World girl myself.

Ben & Jerry's Milk and Cookies Ice Cream

I thought I reviewed this already, but I didn't! Anyway, this sounds amazing, but it isn't amazing, it's just OK. It tastes a lot like cookies and cream ice cream, which was never my favorite. However, if you like that, then you will like this. The cookies are mainly oreo-type cookies, and there is very little dough. I love that dough! What I need is like, DOUBLE-BLASTED COOKIE DOUGH or something. But I digress. This is cookies and cream with a few more fudge cookie stripes, which is nice, and a few cookie dough stripes, which I love, but it mostly tastes like cookies and cream. Drunken aside: does B+Js even make a mint choc chip flavor? That's my favorite, but I feel like they don't! Hmm.

Anyway,

Ben & Jerry's Spectacular Speculoos Cookie Core Ice Cream

I always get excited about new Ben and Jerry's flavors, and they finally showed up in my store today! I chose this one because I like caramel ice cream. The thing about B+J's is, the mix-ins really make or break the flavor. And I guess I didn't know what "Speculoos" was, so I made a small mistake here. Apparently it's a cinnamon graham crackery flavor of cookie. So, this has tasty vanilla and somehow less tasty caramel ice creams with these balls of cinnamon cookie and then a mass of milder cookie butter in the middle. If only it were like sugar cookie dough instead, it would be so good! But I didn't really love this flavor, because the cinnamon flavor just tasted like a subpar snack. And, to make matters worse, even though there was no allergy statement, the fact that they make a peanut butter version and the fact that the cookie butter LOOKS like peanut butter (to an allergy-haver's eye, anyway), I just felt too itchy to enjoy it. So, I have higher hopes for the chocolate cookie flavor! That said, if you LIKE speculoos(?) then I bet you'd like this - it has a lot of "bits" and a good mix of soft and crunchy and chewy. Good texture times.

Ben & Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch

This is kind like a combination of Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz (which now has a peanut warning!?!? >:() and Vanilla Heath Bar Crunch flavors, but it is sadly not as good as either one. The heath pieces are still really good, but this coffee ice cream isn't that great -- not really that coffee-y, more like chocolate ice cream which I don't really like. So the vanilla ice cream is better, and the espresso-caramel bits of the Buzz Buzz were better. Nevertheless, this is still a tasty treat, it's just that there are superior flavors available to me.

Ben & Jerry's Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz Ice Cream

It's been a while! Anyway, I've gotten pretty into coffee. Like I really like coffee. And of course I like ice cream, so when they converted this scoop-shop flavor into a peanut-safe frozen version, of course I bought it. The ice cream base is coffee flavored, which I used to hate, but now I really like. It also has little "espresso-flavor" chocolate rectangles inside; a decent amount of them. Basically the whole thing tastes like a coffee truffle which is really good. Yum. (Super unhealthy though of course :D)

Ben and Jerry's Vanilla Heath Bar Crunch

This was better than I expected. It's really just vanilla ice cream with pieces of heath bar in it. Some of the pieces are big chocolate sheets and some are toffee sheets and some are almost almond-shaped pieces of toffee or almond. I don't really like toffee or heath bars that much, but in the context of vanilla ice cream it actually tastes better. So, in conclusion, this is a good ice cream, well-designed, and goes good in a cone. So.

Laura says: I like it a lot! I love the big chunks of heath bar and the vanilla ice cream is good too! 8/10

Ben and Jerry's Cake Batter Ice Cream

I didn't really taste too much of this ice cream because my first bite was not what I wanted. The cake batter ice cream doesn't necessarily taste like cake but it definitely doesn't taste like ice cream. The chocolate frosting swirl doesn't taste like frosting. It tastes like chocolate ice cream. This is bad. I do not like it.

Cost: 5/10

Laura says: I liked it pretty well, actually. It just tastes like sweet, kind of generic ice cream. 5/10

Ben and Jerry's Boston Cream Pie Ice Cream

This ice cream was ok. But. Not great. The main flavor is supposed to be a custard ice cream which reminds me a lot of the cake batter ice cream in that it wasn't vanilla and it wasn't very good. Nevertheless, the "pastry-swirl" and the "vanilla cake bits" made the flavor bareable. In small bites it's even a treat!

Laura says: It's kind of weird-tasting, but not the worst. 4/10

Ben & Jerry's Greek Blueberry Vanilla Graham

Another B&Js Greek attempt! I like this one better than the raspberry, but it still isn't earth-shattering. The vanilla/blueberry yogurt is strong and tastes good, but not Amazing. The graham swirl is really good, but there isn't enough of it! (In my opinion). Maybe if there were chunks of blueberries or something I would like this better, but it's just a little boring.

Ben & Jerry's Greek Raspberry Fudge Chunk

This is a new flavor, and it's a froyo, so I was excited! However, this one was really just 'meh' for me. Because it's Greek (I guess?!) the frozen yogurt actually tastes tart and yogurty rather than just low-fat ice cream. It's kind of cool, I guess, but the raspberry flavor doesn't do much for me. The 'fudge chunks' are the same slivers of chocolate pieces you'd find in any frozen ice cream, and they are tasty and plentiful, but that still isn't enough to recommend this flavor over the dozens of more delicious frozen treats out there!

Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Nougat Crunch

A new ice cream flavor! That I'm not allergic to! Yeah! This is vanilla ice cream (very good) with soft chocolate frosty from wendy's-esque swirls (pretty good, kinda weird) and chocolate covered wafery cookie bits (mostly weird but not bad). All in all, it's kind of a weird flavor - the cookie bits are OK but I don't seek them out like I seek out cookie dough bits or what have you in other flavors. I would eat it again, but since there are better flavors out there, I probably won't. It's a fun flavor though and it's definitely unique.

Ben and Jerry's "Willie Nelson's Country" Peach Cobbler Ice Cream

That's a mouthful! Of good ice cream! (iced cream?) Anyway, this is a really delicious flavor. And I can't find anymore, so it may be summer-seasonal. This is basically a peach ice cream with chunks of peach and cinnamon-y shortbread cookie pieces. It's all very tasty and does, in fact, remind me a lot of actual peach cobbler. It's got a strong peach flavor, but not overpoweringly like a peach sorbet might do. It's cinnamon and vanilla-y as well. I highly recommend this one!

It's nut free, although not necessarily made in a nut free plant. However, there's no allergy warning, and I trust Ben And Jerry's pretty strongly with that stuff. (here's there faw if you want to read more: http://benjerry.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/184/related/1 )

Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia

Looks good, doesn't it?! This is one of the better ice cream flavors I've tried, but actually, it isn't quite as good as I remembered/hoped. I recall a Healthy Choice Cherry Chocolate Chunk ice cream (that they don't make any more, of course) which I liked way better. Anyway, enough memories!
This ice cream is good. It has a decent amount of semisweet chocolate bits, and large cherry halves. The chunks are great. The ice cream itself is vanilla, I think (perhaps cherry-vanilla, but in reality it tastes like vanilla) and it's pretty standard. So in sum, I like it, but I don't love it. It's a basic, solid flavor for me.

Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Ben and Jerry's ice cream is one of my more trusted ice cream brands, as far as allergies go. They have good labelling, and I've never had any issues with the hundreds of ice creams from them I've probably eaten! Other ice cream brands (Dreyers/Edys, Breyers, Klondike) don't fare nearly as well in that area.
So anyway, this is a classic flavor! It's vanilla ice cream with gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough mixed in, as well as some semisweet chocolate chunks thrown in for variety. The cookie parts are the real treat for me (and for most humans, I'd assume), but the vanilla ice cream is quite good as well. And it's certified fair trade, if you care about that. This flavor is also available as a frozen yogurt version, which is much healthier and still quite good! When I want to buy a flavor I've already tried, it's either this or cherry garcia. My top two!

Ben & Jerrys - Magic Brownies Ice Cream

Yum! So, this DMB inspired ice cream is nut free AND delicious! IT's raspberry and creamy sweet vanilla ice creams swirled together, along with generous fudge brownie streaks. It's really good, because the raspberry is tasty but kept in check by the other flavors. I highly recommend this -- even if it's not very healthy.
