San Pellegrino Ciao! - Peach

I wisely saved the worst for last with this flavor. As expected, it tastes like those candy peach rings, which is a weird flavor I don't like. Also tastes very similar to the peach waterloo, but slightly sweeter/more intense. The funny thing is, this is actual peach juice - not artificial like the waterloo (and I assume the peach candies), so although it tastes not at all like peaches to me, it IS peaches. Another instance of foolishness by yours truly, I guess! Anyway, if you like that flavor, you'll love this. I just miss the nice lime one. Or even the cherry at this point. No allergy issues though.

San Pellegrino Ciao! Lime

We have ourselves a winner, cap'n! I like this much more than the other two Ciaos I chowed, probably because it tastes like a popsicle. Not a good popsicle, necessarily, kinda like a green pop-ice (otter pop for the cali pallys). Good, bright, sweet-seeming lime flavor (and salt). Not too bitter like the orange or artificial(ish) like the cherry. Also, it is my favorite color, green. I could slam these, but I won't, because I'm an adult.

San Pellegrino Ciao! Blood Orange

Ciao! Now we're getting somewhere. As promised, I got after another flavor, and this is a much better one than the cherry. It smells like sweet, sweet candy. It tastes like orangina! Or like some good quality orange juice, watered down and fizzed up (which I guess is exactly what it is). Still a bit fear-and-itch-inducing, but I drank all the cherry ones with no major ill effects, so it's probably just a touch of the old psychosomatism. They made a good move with this line. I'll hit up the lime ones next week if all goes well! Ciao!

San Pellegrino Ciao! Cherry

Ciao! I am happy to see this product line, because I've always liked the normal San Pellegrino ethos, but found them to be too sweet. Now they're following the Spindrift model of "put just a little bit of actual juice in there", which is a great model. I decided to try out a fun drink because it's a Heat Wave and my house is, of course, 100+ degrees. However, I forgot that now I have OAS and Real Fruit makes me itchy. Surely fruit concentrate is like, heated at some point, and therefore shouldn't make me itchy? (I have an allergist appointment in August and will inquire about this, so stay tuned.) Anyway, maybe it's just the heat!? My physical form really stinks.

But this drink only stinks a little bit. The cherry is "sweet cherry", and for the first time I think I can distinguish between sweet and tart cherry, and I can say that sweet cherry is the medicine one. You'd think medicine would be tart, but no no. This is full on medicinal (whereas the tart one's juice was kinda like cranberry, which was good). But it's also a little bit sweet and got that orange/lemon undertone that all the SanPelis have, which makes it more palatable. However, cherry is not the move, unless it's paired with lime. They shoulda done lime. I will try another flavor later since I think I am mostly not that itchy and not dead in any case. Ciao!

San Pellegrino Sparkling Water

This was the only single serve sparkling water at my grocery store, would you believe it? The flavored ones have taken over! I was looking for Perrier or Topo Chico, but this is actually completely fine and maybe even better than those would have been. Anyway, I don't particularly like fizzy drinks, but I am so listless with my current drink selection that adding this to juices has really livened up my life. It has a great fizz and no real flavor to speak of. And it has a nice screwtop so you can even use it more than once. It's a 24oz bottle, so it's a decent size. Paying for water always seemed weird to me, but then again, maybe you can think of it as paying for the fancy glass bottle.

Sanpellegrino Aranciata

I don't know how to classify san pellegrinos -- sparkling juice? But they're mostly not juice. But not really a soda? I guess Sprite doesn't have caffeine, so they're sort of like an orangey Sprite. I used to think they were so classy, especially with the little foil topper you peeled off, but now these are topper-less thin tall cans instead! They do still look fancy, but the thrill is a little bit gone for me, alas. And this orange (is that what Aranciata means? Wiki says: yes! it means "orange drink", very accurate) flavor tastes like when I mix orange juice and sprite when I'm sick, which isn't my most loved experience. Maybe the grapefruit one is better though (that's the one I used to like).
