Organic Valley Cheddar Stringles

You know, the name "Stringles" sure implies that these would be....string cheese...but they aren't string cheese, they're just cheese. At least, this cheddar flavor is that way, even though the mozzarella ones are stringy as expected. Very weird branding. They should be called "Rectangles" instead!! So, other than that, these are good strong cheddar cheese logs, but I wanted string cheese darn it.

Cost: 5/10 (About 4$ for 6 Stringles)

Organic Valley Thick Cut Shredded 3-Cheese Italian

I can't resist cheese y'all. I did email them about allergies and they gave a very vague/general "we follow good manufacturing practices" answer without any specifics about CC or whether they run nuts on the cheese lines. So they probably do, but whatever, I always trusted labels until I got into the NUT FREE MOMS facebook group and those moms are a lil bit intense. Glad I'm not a mom these days.

Anyway, this was fine. I couldn't really notice it when it was in pasta with sauce, and it also didn't melt super cleanly. On its own it tastes pretty much like cheddar, not so much mozz. (Too bad!). Worked better on nachos (aka melted cheese on chips), so that was how I finished it up.

Organic Valley American Singles (Colby-Style)

These are packaged like Kraft singles, but they aren't individually wrapped, so I had to bag 'em up! They are certainly more "cheese" like than your Kraft American, but I don't know if that's necessarily good - it depends what you're looking for, I guess. The taste is basically a sharp cheddar to me, but I'm no cheese expert. I used these for quesadillas as always, and they were actually better than the provolone was, since they weren't deli-tasting. More like grilled cheesers. Tasty product, but I really wish the allergy info was more clear -- I think I might not do Organic Valley anymore, I'm just too scared to die.

Organic Valley Provolone Deli Slices

Mm, cheese. I just saw on their website they have a blanket "produced in a nut faculty" disclaimer, which is annoying to have online and not on products. Massive stress sigh. Anyway, I ate this. It's cheese and slices and I like that. My primary use for cheese was to put in a quesadilla, but this wasn't as good as munster for that, at all. It had a weird "deli" taste, like Swiss cheese-ish, so it's probably suited best for a cold sandwich. But I have only tortilla, so it's quesadillas for me anyway. It was still workable, but a little funky. Stringy like a mozz stick also. Tastes fine with cooked kale, too.

Organic Valley Thick Cut Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese

Cheese? In this pandemic? Well, I guess I've switched from egg to cheese as my singular protein source, since it is available in my bi-monthly food delivery box and I like cheese. As before, I think Organic Valley cheese is risky if soft cheese but otherwise safe, and I've been eating a lot of it lately and am still kickin'! This cheese was really nice, even though I don't typically like cheddar much. I guess the smaller pieces make it more manageable. It definitely still tastes like cheddar cheese though, and not generic swiss/mozz cheese. The thick shreds were fun to eat out of the bag. That said, I don't LOVE cheddar, and it didn't go super well with noodles like munster or swiss does. Worked decently well for quesadillas though.

Organic Valley Muenster Cheese Slices

Mmkay, so, even though I have heard sketchy things about Organic Valley's nut allergy contaminations, I also saw that apart from bleu and cream cheese, all their cheese is actually safe. So that's a relief because I love cheese. Mu(e)nster is in my top cheeses, especially in slice form. I mainly used these in pasta, which is a weird usage since they don't sauce particularly well, but it was still good (and I don't have bread right now so what else am I gonna do?). I also made a quesadilla with 1 slice of this heated for like 10 seconds with hot sauce and it was honestly amazing. So I was very happy to have this. I ate them in exactly 5 days, and the package says good for 3-5 days and I didn't die, so that's a success as well. Woo!

Organic Valley Stringles String Cheese - Mozzarella

String cheese! So I recently joined this nut allergy facebook group and they're all like "Organic Valley isn't safe for peanut/tree nut allergies!!!" and I'm like "ahhhhhh" but this is string cheese, for god's sake, and it has no mention of nuts on the label, only cheese. So I ate it and didn't die. 23 more stringles (what a name) to go! This tastes just like string cheese tastes. It's got a good amount of string-y-ness to it and I have no complaints for now.
