Skittles Gummies - Fuego

I'm really playing with fuego trying these, because eating spicy food gives very similar physical reactions to eating food you're allergic to (see also a bunch of confused adults realising that bananas et al aren't "spicy" for everyone). Also there's a mango flavor and I'm allergic to mango now (maybe not even as an OAS thing, just as a straight up thing, alas). BUT it's SKITTLES, surely I am not allergic to them (and the mango is just "natural flavors", hardly protein level content). The thing is, these aren't actually skittles or candy, they're freakin' gummies. That's way less delicious. Nevertheless, they are a sensory banquet. The chili powder coating is like a sugar coating in texture (fun), but it does have a nice heat to it (although nothing crazy or leaving you gasping for a drink or anything), especially if you eat a bunch in a row. The flavors are distinct. The gummy texture is kinda firm and not my favorite (I'd much rather a regular skittle), but it's not horrible.

Mango: Scary but fine. Due to scary, not my favorite flavor anymore, but it does taste like a mango does. Also tastes a bit like a peach gummy, which are meh on their own merits. 5/10

Watermelon: Tasted a little like a bathroom (I do buy watermelon hand soap sometimes, alas), but decent. Classic flavor, and goes well with the chili powder. 6/10

Raspberry: Ew, what happened here? Tastes like a bathroom in a worse way. There's raspberry underneath, but weird toilet spray atop. Maybe this bag was stored next to soap. Alas. 4/10

Lemon: This is the the best flavor. Lemon candy is always great. Like a spicy chuckle. God bless. 7/10

Strawberry: Nice, kinda like strawberry cream saver. Good bright sweet flavor. 7/10

Skittles Littles

So cute! So these are exactly just skittles, but small and in a tube. Therefore they are fine but not amazing. 220 cals and a full day's sugar in one tube. However, they have the added bonus of making me nostalgic for the brief window in my life when M&M minis came out and there was no "may contain" warnings, so I loved those m&m tubes passionately for about 1 year until they were taken from me. Candy in a tube is way better than candy not in a tube. I hope skittles puts other things in tubes!

Sour Skittles - Berry Mix

I like Skittles, and I like Sour Skittles, so I like these too. However, I don't know if the berry flavored skittles are my favorite -- I prefer regular sour skittles I think! But that's OK, they're still fun, and if I don't like the flavor I can sort of suck on the sour part first and drown it out. Like other sour skittles, after a while they really do destroy your tongue. But in a good way?? Cherry is my least favorite flavor, but they're all decent.

Wild Cherry - This one tastes like cherry medicine. You know, like Luden's? Not my favorite for that. OK though. 5

Melon Berry - Hard to explain, but tastes like my childhood. I like it a lot! 8

Strawberry - Decent, basically tastes like regular skittle red. 7

Raspberry -  Feels the most sour and the most sweet. Tastes blue, and it is blue. 6

Berry Punch - Tastes like Plant Potpourri! I thought these were the berry flavors from before, just sour, but this is the one that made me realise it for sure. What a strange and unique feeling. 7

Sour Skittles

These are good! Chewy and fruity and sour sugar on top. However, they can really tear your mouth up, especially if you eat more than a few (which like, duh). Better than OG Skittles in the moment, though.

Wild Berry Skittles

Skittles are always fun. Ultimately these were a bit weird, and I don't know if I would prefer them to the OG Skittle mix, but they're still fun to try. The five flavors are as follows --

Wild Cherry - not my favorite, tastes like cherry cough syrup. 5/10

Strawberry - Just OK, a little medicinal, a little too sweet. 6/10

Berry Punch - These are the purple ones, and they're good -- similar to some other tropical candy, they taste like the store 'plant potpourri' smells, which is weird. Sweet. 6/10

Raspberry - A classic blue candy flavor! What wild berry should be all about. 7/10

Melon Berry - These are green and great, juicy! Not sure if melon is really a 'berry' though. Vibes of lime/lemon/melon. 7/10

Tropical Skittles

Skittles are a classic, but tropical skittles could go either way in theory - the blue makes it look fun, but "tropical" often means Weird Coconut flavor, so you never know. Luckily, these were overall pretty nice. There's 5 distinct flavors in the mix:

Yellow - This tastes exactly like a banana runt. So, I love it. 8/10
Green - This is more Lime than Kiwi, it basically tastes like the normal green skittle. I like it. 7/10
Pink - At first bite this was bad and tasted like cough drops, but then it pivoted to tasting a lot like the pink runt! Confusing. I think I miss Runts. 6/10
Orange - This was pretty neutral, much like the normal orange skittle. 6/10
Blue - This is the weirdest one in the mix. I guess it's kind of pina colada-y, but the passionfruit part of it is bad.  5/10

A lot of flavor overlap with the Tropical Starburst, which were also overall pretty nice.
