Martin's Sweet Party Rolls

My dad likes the regular Martin's party rolls for a holiday dinner, but this was the only kind my store had. Sweet!? Sounds gross, right? It turns out these basically taste the same as regular, so my dad liked them fine. They're also OK with me, but not my favorite bread-side. So, edible, but not my preference. A little too potato-y and not enough butter-y!

Martin's Butter Bread

The name "butter bread" makes me feel dirty, but this is a solid white bread for the times when you need a white bread. It is a little bit "sugary" for my taste, but it's not over the top or anything. Texture-wise, a slice gets crusty/firm really quickly, which I find OK, I guess. The taste is buttery and a little potatoey, but not too weird. Decent overall, and holds up to moist sauces well enough. Most importantly, no nut/seed allergens (except possible sesame cross-contam).

Martin's Potato Rolls

Happy Thanksgiving! These are not really good for dinner rollin', but they are great for sloppy joes, BBQ pork, and other large sandwiches. A very solid product. Although, now that I've had the "slider size", I feel almost like these are too big! At least for solo single girls like myself. But Martin's rolls are just generally good.

Martin's Slider Potato Rolls

Martin's is great. Nut free facility, sesame is an ingredient but it's not actually in there. Tastes great for sandwiches, and, ostensibly, burgers. They grilled up in a pan really nicely too, which I'd never tried before. These sliders are also the perfect size, I think they're better than the full sizers. "Yummy", says I.

Martin's Whole Wheat Potato Bread

Since I had the terrible "I'm allergic to Sara Lee even though they don't post allergens on the actual product" discovery, I need a new go-to bread. It's surprisingly hard to find a safe alternative, since all the "healthy" breads have nuts or seeds in them that I can't eat. And the Ballpark/Wonderbread white options are really gross. This is a nice middle ground, I guess - it's wheat bread, so it has a bit of fiber, but there's no seeds or nuts and it's soft and tastes like regular bread. I would rather have a bit more texture, but you gotta take what you can get in this life. Overall it's good, definitely potato bread, but not a strong flavor and works well soft or toasted. Holds up to soggy egg, too. It was much pricier than I'm used to paying, but that's OK - it does last a while, anyway.
