Kerrygold Pure Irish Butter (Salted)

Butter, obviously, improves the taste of many things. This butter is from a great company (at least, ingredient-transparency-wise) and might cost 5 billion dollars soon, so I had to get some while the getting's good. The 8oz package is much cheaper than half of the 1lb package, and it's also a more appropriate size for me. But it's not in sticks, it's just a thick rectangle, so the portioning-out process is a little bit annoying. Nevertheless, with the right tools, you can make it work for you.

Kerrygold Unsalted Butter

I buy this brand for baking because of their explicit nut-free-ness (online) and their good reputation (among bakers everywhere). It tastes like butter and is suitable for my butter needs (which are not excessive). It lasts a long time and is easy to cut. One downside, which I find with many butters, is that the labelled tables(poons) are askew on the wrapper and so you have to use your brainpower to cut an appropriate amount, which I am not great at.

Kerrygold Savory Cheddar Shredded Cheese

Like the mild cheddar shreds before it, this savory cheddar is also a pleasant, nut-free cheese experience. Perhaps it is more "sharp" in flavor, but to be honest I didn't notice (or remember?) a big difference taste-wise. However, I do like cheese. Good with pasta, chips, snacks.

Kerrygold Mild Cheddar Shredded Cheese

Kerrygold has an FAQ on their website that says they don't use any nut products! Hurrah! This made the cheese taste infinitely better. However, it also tastes like classic cheddar cheese. Even though it says mild, it was a strong cheddar flavor to me. I never loved cheddar best, and that's a pasta cheese, not a nacho cheese, but I still melted it for nachos and honestly it was pretty good. Melted cheese is just overall good. If I actually had some bread or something, this would be even better. Maybe I should do an omelette!

Kerrygold Blarney Castle Cheese

Basically everybody likes cheese, right? And I'm no exception! Except this cheese was really disappointing. It tasted...not good! It was a little too dank or musky or something. It's a fairly hard cheese, and I struggled to eat it all (but I did, via creative melting-and-pasta-integration). Anyway, I don't like it and I don't know enough about cheese to compare it. Maybe it tasted like bleu cheese, because I also don't like that.
