Enjoy Life Gingerbread Spice Cookies

These are a solid EL cookie! Similar to the oatmeal ones and whatever other holiday one I had recently, they're sweet and flavorful and not in a weird "gluten free" way (no offense). Lots of ginger pieces in here, which is nice. Sure, they're still pretty dense little crumbly balls, but at least they taste good!

Betty Crocker Gingerbread Cake & Cookie Mix

Because I'm an idiot, I used this mix to make a sheet cake instead of cookies. This was a mistake! I don't know what I expected, but the resulting gingerbread cake (aka ginger Bread) was OK -- it tasted like a dense bread with ginger flavor. It needs something more, like cream cheese frosting. I did melt butter on top and add sugar, and that was good but still ultimately just a filling sweet bread. Very easy prep though, just required one egg. Probably would not make again.

Bakery Bling Cozy Cottage Designer Gingerbread House

I always wanted to make a gingerbread house, so at the age of 31 I finally found a safe one online and did it. However, I have no artistic sensibilities so I will not shame myself with the picture of the finished house. It was, let's say, pretty similar to what age-6-me might have produced.

Luckily I can try again since this company has multiple house-building kits, and cookie decorating kits too, and they're clearly nut free, which is so great. The actual taste of the gingerbread (and icing/sugar) was like, not that good, but I think that's probably par for the course with food that is also a structure. It was edible, and I did indeed eat the whole thing over the period of a week or so, but it was a firm, not-that-flavorful sugar bomb. Still, I'm glad I got to have the full experience! Even if I was alone...and old...and it's February. Check it off the bucket list baybee!

Pepperidge Farm Ginger Man Cookies

I love these cookies! They have a silly name, because they seem pretty genderless, but I like the quirky nature of it. These are crunchy and thin, and more sweet than gingery (especially with the sugar on top), but compared to other PepFarm cookies they are lower in calories (like 5 for 140 cals) which I didn't realise until recently and makes me like them even more! They are a cute and fun to eat Christmas/holiday festive treat. A little buttery and very addictive.
