Act II Hot & Spicy Popcorn

Is it called Act II because it's for sad singles in their second act of life? I hope so. I love it because each bag is a normal serving size for one human, instead of 3x as much popcorn as I want but I will eat it all regardless. Thank you for your service in portion sizes, Act II. This flavor is also solid. It is hot (but not crazy hot) and a little spicy. It is also quite salty and a little bit fatty/oily. What it is not, crucially, is cheesy or powdery, so this is truly distinct from a cheddar popcorn type, and I think it's superior, too. I could do without the bright orange coloring (from Red 40 I believe) but otherwise, it's a win for me.

Act II 94% Fat Free Butter Popcorn

Somehow I guess this is different from their "light butter" popcorn(??). It's the same idea though -- a light butter flavor. Where 6% of it is pure fat. It's a solid popcorn either way, no complains.

Act II Light Butter Popcorn

Light butter popcorn always seems like the right choice. I like butter, and I like feeling like I made a healthy decision. But it's never really that good, and the health difference is so negligible between light and non-light. This one was OK. It had a little bit of a weird taste to it, and often came out overcooked, but it was fine enough. 260 cals isn't bad for a filling snack, either.

Act II Butter Popcorn

I bought this because it was cheap, so maybe what the box says ("best value in popcorn") is actually right! I was waffling between a 6 and 7 rating for this, but since it is better than the butter lovers flavor, I'll give it a 7. I think this is probably the best microwave popcorn I've had to date -- it has a good taste, reminiscent of movie popcorn, and a good crunchy texture. I've never had it come out too soft or too burnt, so it seems very consistent also. Maybe not the healthiest snack, but the stats seem within the ballpark of all the other microwave popcorns, and honestly for how cheap and filling it is, it isn't terrible for you (I think).

Act II Butter Lovers' Popcorn

I've bought this a few times now because other than the janky store brand, this is the cheapest popcorn for sale. At first I was hesitant because I like to get the "butter lite" types, since I thought Butter Lovers would be like, really bad for you. The problem with popcorn is that the nutrition labels are deeply inscrutable -- none of them are just "per bag" "popped" it's all "2tsp unpopped" and then I have no idea what that actually translates to. But I did the work once to translate it and the butter versions are so insignificantly different from the non butter versions, it's crazy! So therefore, I will buy the cheapest, which for some reason is this one which is half price of the other brands and flavors. Conclusion: it is good. Actually the butter "flavor" is not very good, but the texture is good and it doesn't burn easily and I usually pop most of the kernels, so it's a much better pop than other types I've had. I keep craving this so it must be decent; a fun cheap snack that is so-so healthwise.
