Hatfield Hardwood Smoked Ham Steak

I'm surprised I didn't have this flavor ("plain") yet, but I guess it is indeed less tasty than the honey or sugar flavors. It was for a pasta recipe with cream sauce, though, so I thought plain was the right call. This is already cooked so it's convenient for use as an ingredient. It's a half pound which is also good for that. No complaints, just not particularly delicious like a Christmas ham :P

Hatfield Pre-Sliced Quarter Sliced Boneless Ham with Water Added

This is a nice ham for a small family like mine. It tastes like ham, is safe both pre-cooked-wise and allergen wise (at least in my experience), and it is nicely cut already. Nothing earth shattering, but tastes like ham!

Hatfield Sweet Brown Sugar Ham Steak

This was a solid lil hammy! I think it was better than the honey flavor, although I don't know that they really tasted that different, it's just that this one didn't have a weird flavor and the other one kinda did. I also cooked this less long, so maybe that's a factor. Anyway, it's filling and protein and pretty cheap and fast to make. Decent stuff if you're in the food for a meat.

Hatfield Honey Ham Steak

This was a dinner classic growing up. I'm not crazy for pig meat in general, but honestly this is a convenient and affordable piece of meat. Cooks in like 5min, no safety issues since it's pre-cooked, expiry date is months out, makes 2 servings (but if you eat it all it's not madness), and the taste is decent -- a little weird flavor in parts, possibly due to my pan, but mostly just "ham" flavor. Good texture, hard to mess it up. Goes with cheesy noodles and sweet potatoes, 2 of my most common foods. Basically I like it more than I thought I would.

Hormel Natural Choice Cooked Deli Ham

As far as deli ham goes, this one isn't great. Definitely not as good as the Hillshire Farms honey ham. First of all, this is thicker sliced, but it also seems to have more filler because of that, and is very wet in a gross slippery way. Also not much flavor, ham or otherwise, and certainly no honey flavor (not that it's supposed to, I guess). At least it isn't smoked flavored either. It's OK if you crucially need ham for something, but definitely not my first choice. I got this because it was cheapest (at like 5$, for heaven's sake) and my usual was like 8$ (which is crazy), but I think I might take the hit to my wallet in the future and get a better ham.

Hillshire Farm Honey Ham (Deli Select)

Lately I've been enjoying a lot of ham sandwiches, and this ham is the star of those sandwiches! I think it's my favorite lunch meat (apart from actual non-packaged deli ham, that is). It's thin, it's not smoky, it's got a nice honey flavor (but not too strong), it's not dry, and there's a decent amount in the container. Recommended for everyone!
