Twizzlers trees

I've really trained the people in my life well, because two different people got me these as a thank-you gift. It's an excellent pick because they are:

- Allergen free!
- Brain-diet approved!
- Seasonal and new!
- Small and a cute shape hehe!
- A sweet snack, my favorite kind!

Luckily they won't read this blog though, because: they aren't that good taste-wise. But they aren't offensive, and the shape IS cute. It's just that they look like plastic and taste a little bit like plastic too. I guess this is generally just what red vines and twizzlers taste like. It's been a while since I've had them so I forgot! I have a very fond memory of eating cherry nibs in a blanket fort at age 7 or so, but no fond twizzlers memories since then, only the memory of the memory. (And now I guess the fond memory of being known! aw!)

Twizzlers Gummies

This is pleasant enough. They're much puffier than expected! They remind me a bit of a big Amazing Fruit gummy bear, which is nostalgic. The different flavors are actually distinguishable, which is cool. All three are paired with cherry, perhaps to enhance the "lips and tongue" imagery, which is the biggest downside for me (the imagery, not the flavor). Cherry is a neutral flavor so that part works. The peach is good and peachy, the lemonade basically tastes like lemon candy, which I like best, and grape is very grapey like a grape Popsicle, which I also like because it's just a little strip of it. So, pretty decent.

Twizzlers Pull 'n' Peel - Twizted Strawberry Blast

I am sad to report that this is a blursed candy (or should I say blurzed?). It looks cute, but pull and peels are never good, and this flavor is even worse than the plain red one. Part of the weirdness is the texture, which is spongier and rubbery. Part is the taste, which is generically cheap-strawberry-sweetness, and part is the smell, which is, again, like a beach toy. Sorry Twizzler, try again later.

Twizzlers Strawberry Twists

These are OK. I was expecting better, but maybe I had a bad batch. They were a little chewier with a bigger hole inside than I was used to. It's no cherry flavor, I guess, and certainly no cherry nib or red vine. But I was also having allergy anxiety since they were single serve, so that might have contributed. Anyway, they're fine.

Twizzlers Rainbow Twists

Aw heck. Twizzlers are nut free and sometimes pretty tasty, but this rainbow version is pretty bad. They're thicker and dryer than the normal red twists or nibs. The flavors are different for each of the 6 colors, which are separate ropes, but none of the flavors are especially strong. They are unique though (blue raspberry, lemonade, grape), and pretty to look at, but the texture is just super tough and not good at all. Jerky but in a twizzler. They give me vibes/smells kind of like plastic beach toys, which is nostalgic but also kind of messed up. Especially the purple one!
