Mrs. T's Feta & Spinach Pierogies

So many pierogies! My first thought was that I liked em, since they basically taste like all the rest but maybe a bit less potatoey and more ravioli-y, which I liked. But on second taste, I wasn't loving it. The fickle world of pierogy.

Mrs. T's Loaded Baked Potato Pierogies

These were not bad; I like the cheese flavor and the baco vibe adds a nice umami-ness. Not really so different from others but it was solid nonetheless.

Mrs T's Sour Cream & Chive Pierogies

These, like many a rogi, are just fine! They taste a bit like sour cream dip on a potato, which is pleasant and a slight change of rogi-pace.

Mrs T's Cheddar Bacon Mini Pierogies

Mrs. T! I missed ya. These are cute little mini pierogies, which I prefer to the full size ones. You get 11 in a serving! That's so many! They also cook super fast. This flavor really tastes overwhelmingly of bacon, but it's real and not fake soy meat, so I like it pretty well. Solid flavor.

Mrs T's Classic Onion Pierogies

Oh, Mrs. T. Is there a Mr. T???? Ha ha... ha.

This flavor was pretty standard. Really just your average rogi; not as strong of a flavor as I'd hope for. Nothing to write blogs about.

Mrs. T's Pierogies - Minis Classic Cheddar

Sorry for the title gore, I didn't know what to do with that. It feels like its been years since I reviewed a pierogy. I bought these so long ago, before the virus times, way way before. Finally I am eating them. Why didn't I buy more crap in my final grocery trip? Answer: I didn't have chest pain yet and confidently assumed I'd leave the house again. A fool I was. But even though these are my last and only pierogy, they still aren't THAT good. A very prototypical rogi. Nice, comforting texture with a boring potato inside. The best part about the minis is that you get 11 of them for 220 cals, which feels like a lot! The worst part is you get 2.5 servings per box instead of 3.2ish. But these are nice and so quick to cook. The day I finally get another flavor will be such a happy day, 'cause it'll mean I went to the store!!

BTW, I felt like I was having a heart attack when I got up to make these. My body is just not healin', blog. Sigh. :(

Mrs. T's Mini 4 Cheese Medley Pierogies

My first new review of the year and it isn't even very new -- I've had many a pierogy, but not a mini pierogy! It turns out I'm a fan of the smaller size. You get to eat more of them (11!) and more of something is always more fun. It's the opposite of a mini oreo because here, you get more of the GOOD stuff (noodle) and less of the "eh" stuff (the filling)! Nice! Also softer and cook faster. The taste is still a bit boring, but it's easier to pretend these are just old timey raviolis.

Mrs. T's Pierogies - 4 Cheese Medley

These are fine. Very typical, classic flavor potato mash pierogie. I couldn't distinguish them from any of the other cheese types (5 cheese?), but that's fine. It's not my favorite flavor or texture, but it is reliable, and I will say that these tasted really fresh, and the noodle part was nice and al dente. Anyway, as ever these are great when you're starving and have no time, money, or energy and plan to nap right after.

Mrs. T's 5 Cheese Pizza Pierogies

These were nice! I guess I like the pizza flavors and the broccoli flavors so far. I thought they were nice and cheesy, and not too potatoey. Filling and convenient as ever. Good when I'm starving and want to nap after eating. :) I didn't see these at the store this week though, so they might be defunct.

Mrs. T's Pierogies - Broccoli & Aged Cheddar

I thought these were pretty good! Not as potatoey as most flavors. I wish there was even more broccoli inside! But there is a tangible amount.

Mrs. T's Pierogies - Savory 5 Cheese Blend

Ah, pierogy. This flavor was "true neutral", it was some filling lumps of food that I ate, but nothing special. Really there was no strong flavor to these at all. Luckily the 5 cheeses didn't consist of any so-called gross cheeses like feta or bleu, which is a relief. Still, could it be that I'm getting pierogy fatigue?

Mrs. T's Garlic & Parmesan Pierogies

More pierogy? I guess so! It is really nice to have a safe, dependable food. This garlicy flavor is one of favorite iterations so far, although maybe I was just really hungry (but I usually am hungry when I reach for pierogi). It's very garlicky and just a little cheesy. Nice!

Mrs. T's Classic Cheddar Pierogies

I'm really taking my time going through the pierogi aisle, but I think here I've arrived on basically the prototypical pierogi. These aren't super exciting, with just vaguely cheesy potato insides, but as always, they are warm and easy to make.

Mrs. T's Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil Pierogies

Honestly, I had very low expectations for this flavor of pierogie, because they look a little gross. Why is it red inside? Is this ravioli or pierogie?!? (Of course ravioli is more delicious....) But I like mozz, tomato, and basil, so even when they're mixed with mashed potato and pepper inside of a noodle, the taste is still good. It really is like an italian pasta inside, just mixed with potato. I don't LOVE it, but these are so cheap and easy to make that I'm gonna keep playing the pierogie roulette.

Mrs. T's Spicy Jalapeño & Sharp Cheddar Pierogies

After a long day, there's nothing I crave more than....spicy pierogies? Hmmm. That's not right. As you may know, I prefer noodle + rice + bread all over potato, so these noodles full of potato never "hit the spot" for me like they seem to for other people. But they're cheap, and this is a fun new flavor, so let's try it out. The box gives 3 cooking options - saute (actually fry), boil, or bake. Saute was listed first, so I went with that, adding them to a pan with vegetable oil. This always smells like pancakes to me, so it was already a little weird. I've also never had someone else's pierogies outside my family, so I don't even know how they're supposed to be. I always have them boiled, so fried was wild! The outside got crunchy, but good, like a restaurant or somethin'. The inside basically tastes like jalepeno flavored mashed potatoes, and I do like the jalepeno flavor, it's good. Not sure where the sharp cheddar is, I guess it's that "pierogie" flavor I get. These are kind of fun to eat, and they're OK, but I get the impression they're supposed to be more of a treat than they are. I'd rather have ravioli or mashed potatoes, not both. But they're OK. A little spicy, but not overwhelming. 4 is a good serving size, and each box has 12, so it's a good value.
