These aren't very good for a cookie! So there! I like salty caramel but these mainly just taste like a salty (buttery) cookie. I guess caramel has a buttery note, but it doesn't come across like caramel here. There are distinct "bits" in the cookie to look at it, but they all sort of meld into the larger cookie of it all. Very crunchy and crumbly, if you like that. Unfortunately, very crunchy and crumbly if you don't like that, too. These do have cream in them, so they are forbidden, but you can't really taste the cream. Hmph.
