Cheez-It White Cheddar

At first, I did not like these very much, but the next few little bags I really liked. Seems highly variable! They have a very salty taste, but the sodium isn't THAT high -- is this what MSG does to a person? They are either quite good or just OK, depending on the day. I don't know what to tell you!

Cheez-Its

As a kid, Cheez-its were kind of like soda to me -- I didn't get the appeal. I didn't hate them or anything, but they taste burnt and not creamy or fatty or sweet, so what's the point? Now that I'm older I can appreciate a salty snack a bit more for its own sake, although this particular bag was kind of weird -- it smelled oddly sweet and the cheezers were awfully crispy. The taste was OK though. I'm not sure how I feel about Cheez-Its. I guess: they're fine.

DeCecco Racchette Pasta

Oh my god, these are shaped like RACKETS. I thought they were just funny circles ('wagon wheels') from the picture and was so surprised when I opened the box. Amazing stuff. I guess this is a DeCecco special because I'm pretty sure I've never heard of this shape before. Nut free so I enjoyed it double.

Oreo - Mega Stuf

Oreo-my-god, what?!, I thought when I saw this. I guess it's a natural extension of Double Stuf, but wait until you hear that there's a "Most Stuf" which is a 4x level of stuf instead of this measly 3x stuf. It makes sense, because the stuf is obviously the best part of the oreo. So therefore, yes, I enjoyed this. However, they are very bad for you (:o) and I also don't know if the mega-stuf are in a peanut free facility like the single and double stufs are. Therefore I prefer double stuf, despite loving stuf. I wonder why they speled it like that.

2019 Perdeberg 'Classic Collection' Shiraz

Pros: screw top, nut free promise, stylish and clear labelling.

Cons: I don't know what it is, but the last two or three red wines I've had have made me feel physically ill upon drinking them, to the point where I don't want to finish my (single) glass. It's weird because I like alcohol and it's not like I'm pounding a bottle a night here. Not sure if I've changed or if I'd had a bad run of red vinos.

Anyway, the taste of this is just OK. A little bit woodsy or smoky. Not super fruity. The texture/"mouthfeel" is good. Better warm but not a huge difference. Not my favorite wine though.

Starbucks Bottled Frappuccino - Brown Butter Caramel

This was a bigger size than the little bottles I was using for creamers! It's a whole 290 cals. I liked the idea of "splash of cold brew" bottles, because I thought they'd be less sugary tasting, and I guess that's true to a very minor extent here. It wasn't TOO sweet, but it definitely was sweet. Very milky, also. Basically this tasted like what I imagine straight Dunkin' caramel swirl is like. So I guess it is pretty dang sweet. Bleh.

Allergy Smart Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Ah, the rare company who makes Top 8 Cookies that don't taste like Top 8 Cookies! A true blessing. Unfortunately, this particular flavor brought up some bad associations for me -- they tasted like these fiber biscuits (?) or laxative cookies (??!) that my parents used to make me eat as a tiny kid, which I associate with very bad enememories. But if I overlook this personal damage, they taste good, I think. A little cinnamony, sweet, raisin flavor. The texture is kind of unsatisfying, though -- they're very firm and crunchy, and I would prefer more sticky, chewy vibes, with more raisins and oat clumps. They also LOOK like digestives, in the American sense. Still, much better than other "gluten free" cookies. I like the brand but maybe not so much this flavor, as discussed.

LaClare Goat Cheese - Original

Ah, the OG flavor! I knew what to expect texture-wise, but flavorwise I wasn't sure what it'd be like (I'm a cheese noob I guess). Anyway, it turns out goat cheese is basically like cream cheese that's very thick. I'd peg it as more sweet than savory. Would be really good on a bagel, but alas, I have no such products. It was OK with crackers though, got melty with time and warm air. I prefer the unambiguously sweet apple flavor to this one, but this is still good for a filling and classy snack.

Doritos - Salsa Verde

I'm not a huge Dorito girl, but in these uncertain times, I'm a lil chica Dorita. These weren't too bad -- the seasoning was a very particular flavor, like Keeber Pizzaria chips (RIP). The overall chips were still too corn-heavy and the seasoning wasn't strong enough to cover that up for me, alas.

Partake Birthday Cake Cookies

Although the name is different, these are essentially identical to their special Christmas-y 'Vanilla Sugar' crunchy cookies. They have a weird fake taste that I don't like, and franky, are not good. A generic gluten free treat that I will still eat if it is around.

De Cecco Tricolor Fusilli no.34 Pasta

Fusilli-ve me alone if you don't like these cute veggie tricolor pastas. Of course they don't contain much veggie, but the colors are classic and De Cecco is nice and allergy friendly. These are fun, although I must say the uncooked green one tastes real funky. Everyone eats a few dry noodles now and then, right? So I guess it really does have spinach in it! Anyway, these are fine sauced, but also solid with italian dressing as an EZ pasta salad. Gotta love that!

2018 Marine Descombe Beaujolais-Villages

Ah, Mary Taylor! My wine-finding queen who says there are no nuts! This was a gamay, and unfortunately, it was a little bit gamEy for my taste. Or, something was weird about it, anyway. My first instinct was that it was oddly thick, almost creamy, which seems fine enough. But it also tasted peppery! Or did I have a dirty cup, I wondered. Nevertheless, it had a weird mouthfeel and a weird aftertaste -- almost onion-beer-breath-y. Do I dare say I like it? At first I wasn't sure, but on cold-next-day drinking, it made me feel even worse, and not want to finish the bottle, which is very very rare for me. I poured the last cup down the sink. I'm sorry, Mary T! This wine was not for me, though I can't even say exactly why.

Tostitos Restaurant Style Salsa - Medium

What makes this restaurant style? I guess it's that it's much runnier than the pico-ish chunky salsas you get in jars sometimes. And you know what, I think I like that. It does remind me of Fiesta Mexico and other once-loved restos. It's also fairly spicy, and generally less "jar salsa" tasting even though the taste is pretty similar in actuality. I think I prefer this over the other Tostitos salsas!

2019 Perdeberg 'The Vineyard Collection' Cinsault

Another nut-free guarantee! Heck yeah boys, Perdeberg is IN (even if the name makes me lol). This is a South African wine in a very pretty bottle, although it doesn't have a screw top. The thing with the red wines is, they really have diminishing returns. On first glass, it's pleasant. Smells a bit like pure Concord Grape Juice, thought it tastes like (wait for it): red wine. A little cherry note, maybe, and not super woody or smoky. I liked it. But in days 2/3, it was more acidic, less fruity, less warm. C'est la vie, I gotta drink faster! (Or make friends, now that quar is easing??)

Crispy Fruit - Apple

Surely I've had these before, but I guess I didn't review it because they're basically the same as all the other freeze dried apples out there. Actually, since I've been having so many non-apple crispyfruits, it was nice to return home to these. It tastes like dried apple, and I like that flavor. Nice and crispy, as per the name. Not too sweet or crumbly. Obviously, not at all filling, but a good little flavor break.

Mott's Fruit Flavored Snacks

I had a dangerous addiction to these fruit snacks for a few weeks there. They're nice and firm textured, and the flavors are pleasant and juicy. And they're shaped like different fruits, which is very cute. But one is a CARROT shape?! Don't worry, none of them taste like carrot, they all taste basically the same. Good.
