Light Miracle Whip

This Whip is a light miracle. Honestly, mayo is so gross compared to Miracle Whip, and I don't understand the haters. The only valid complaint about miracle whip is that it's really bad for you. Probably like 100cals per tablespoon. So, in comes this bad boy, at 20cals per spoon. Is it a little bit less delicious? Yes. But is it infinitely better than mayo and perfect for mixing, salads, and sandwiches? You bet your sweet bippy!

Vegan Rob's Cauliflower Puffs

These weren't bad, as far as the VRB puff line goes. A generically seasoned puff -- onion? garlic? pepper? without much cheese flavor, but not too much "probiotic" flavor either, so we count our blessings. A decent quantity of a very average foodstuff.

Sugar River Cheese - Pepper Jack

I didn't look into it super thoroughly, but I suspect that this company is one of those fake fronts, like the DoorDash versions of Chuck-E-Cheese or whatever. I couldn't find any evidence of it existing as a cheese-making institution. But, there was no mention of nuts on the label, so that's good enough for me (for American non-desserts). This is a good, solid pepper jack cheese, and it also works for melting (although it is very oily). No complaints, makes 4 nice servings.

Fancypants Irish Cream Cookies

These are astonishingly good for a nut free cookie! The only downside is, I have no idea if they are expired. It's clearly well past St. Patty's Day, but....it's a cookie. So. The taste is hard to describe. A little cream, a little coffee, a little molasses maybe? Definitely tastes either homemade or European, both of which are good qualities. Not overly sweet, and a very unique flavor. Buttery, but not gross. Good stuff! I love it!

Haribo Roulette

I've really grown in my Haribo affection over the years! I used to absolutely hate it, because it's so dang firm. But it didn't change.... I did. There's so many fun shapes and colors and they're all nut free. This is the same way, but -- circles! Firm! Some of the flavors actually do taste different, and there's one (red?) that I especially like, as it tastes like Amazing Fruit gummy bears of my early childhood. They're still too firm though.

Philadelphia Garden Vegetable Cream Cheeese

I only bought this 'cause I used to get Garden Veggie cream cheese at Dunkin, and I only originally got that because I thought "ooh, veggie=healthy". Silly young me. This isn't healthy, but it's filling, which is great for my morning bagel! I think this isn't as good as the Dunkin version, but it's similar. Tastes more like cream cheese than like garden veggie, but that's still pleasant.

New York Bakery Five Cheese Texas Toast

This stuff bakes in 5-8 minutes the same way it takes me just 5-8 minutes to respond to an email. But other than this blatant underestimate, it's good toast. I especially like that they come in a sealable baggie inside, so I can make 1 toast per meal with my noodles. It's a good treat. No real difference between this and the lower number of cheeses -- maybe the bottom gets more burnt? But it's good nevertheless.

fresh2o Red Leaf Lettuce

OK, I didn't have exactly this packaging, but indeed it is a hydroponic lettuce tuft, with roots attached, smooshed in a bag. Seems cool, except I'm not buying lettuce to deal with Dirt and Such -- I can grow my own Dirt Lettuce!! So this was not an ideal experience. The taste was OK. Maybe a bit earthy (and yes I did wash it). I prefer a pre-washed style, alas.

2019 Woop Woop Chardonnay

Woop woop is kind of an annoying name, but I will charitably assume it's just Australian slang that I don't know about. So far, I like all the Aussie wines' ethos -- the bottles are pretty and much more "modern" than the Euro + SA wines. That makes me think they're less allergenic, but that might be dumb. Anyway, I like the bottle. The actual taste was solid chard -- sweet, but not too fruity. Pretty enjoyable.

Dean's Sweets - Double Dark Chocolate-Covered Matzos

Let's be real, matzo isn't that good. It's a flavorless cracker. The worst part of religion is the food! But chocolate definitely elevates it. Plus, it's passover! Plus it's nut-free. This is fun and new and seasonal, so I like it, but objectively a chocolate covered peep or something is way more delicious.

2019 Dopff & Irion Crustaces

I didn't register that "Crustaces" meant "crustaceans" until I got the bottle and saw a bunch of FISH on the label. I was a little scared that there were secret fish ingredients in here, even though that makes no sense. Anyway, I drank it, so I guess there were not. Other than the name, I do like the funny picture and the long slim bottle design. The taste was OK -- quite sweet, but not too tropical or tart or gross. No big opinions, as Laura B once said.

Bright Farms Sunny Crunch Iceberg Lettuce

Mine was actually grown in PA! I like the cute little locale label. I also like that this says "no need to wash", and that it is packaged in its own closed-case, because I am anxious about not just allergens but also Dirt and Bug. Yes, I am a precious babby. Anyway, I enjoy this lettuce -- it tastes like lettuce, and I've had no issues with it. Makes one biiig salad. Very nice.

Arby's Seasoned Curly Fries [Frozen]

I'm thinkin' Arby's....did a smart thing making these available in my local grocery. They're really not bad! Not quite as greasy as the OG restaurant version (which is probably a good thing), but otherwise pretty authentic of a match. They cooked properly, had a nice curl to 'em, and are way better than a regular oven fry. Thanks, Arby's. If only they sold Arby's Sauce in the bottle, too. (Maybe they do, I gotta check!)

Roth Creamy Cheddar Snack Cheese

Much like the gouda, these are deliciously soft little cheese circles, definitely creamy as advertised and super convenient. Better than any other cheddar in my life. I think I do prefer the gouda version, but they are ultimately pretty similar, and if you like cheddar then this is your cheese!

McCormick Beef Gravy

This was the only soy-free beef gravy in any form I could find at my store, even though there were dozens of them. Maybe that's why I always thought brown gravy was "gross" as a kid. Anyway, maybe not though, because although this was allergy-free, I didn't like it very much. I got it to put over fries with cheese (to do my best poutine-at-home), but it mainly made the fries damp and a little weird/salty? It didn't do what I was hoping. But, it is a safe brown gravy, and very easy to heat up (you can microwave it!), so I appreciate those aspects at least.

Dunkin' Midnight k-cups

First of all, apparently you can buy these from Staples for pretty cheap, which is unexpected. I've been searching everywhere for the newish strawberry flavor, but alas, it is nowhere to be found. Anyway, is this just a new name of the original Dark Roast k-cup? Very likely. But there are a few different medium/dark roast names out there, so it's possible this is slightly different. I never have them both simultaneously so it's hard to gauge. My instinct is to say this one is a little more overly "dark" -- it tastes richer, stronger, "chocolate-y-er". It's a lot on its own, but good with milk. A nice little change of pace from "regular", and not artificially flavored, so a good Old Reliable. The only downside is it's a bit boring, and I think "plain" is a better default.

utz Sour Cream & Onion chips

Ah, the chips of my childhood. Unlike the cheese curls, this Utz product holds up well. They're very thin, mostly taste like oily seasoning (yum), and most importantly don't taste like gross Lays-esque chips. My ideal chip is like these.

Utz Cheese Curls

WhUTZ new, fam? I like utz, and this bag even says that it's produced in a nut free facility, which I love (although am also a bit confused about why their other chips DON'T say this, uh oh). I remember liking these a lot as a kid, but I gotta say, they didn't super duper hold up. I think their chips are much better, even though I don't love chips. The texture on these is a little too soft for me, and the taste isn't great or cheesy. They got the look though!

2019 Ventisquero Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva

Unfortunately, I took a little bit too long of a time before I wrote this review, and I don't remember this wine anymore. My notes were "good, yummy" so I guess I liked it well enough. It's got a screwtop, which I always appreciate. No other notes for today!

Vermont Smoke & Cure - Smoked Chipotle Beef & Pork Sticks

Ah, the classic meat stick. I sure had a lot of these, but they're gone now! I did enjoy them more than the turkey sticks I had previously, since these were moister. They do taste like a restaurant version of "chipotle seasoning", whatever that means. A nice change of space within the same meatstick workspace. Pretty solid for what it is.

Orville Redenbacher's smartpop! butter popcorn

I wanted some "plain" popcorn, which I guess I should have just popped myself, because this is the closest I could find, and obviously it still has some butter/salt/flavoring. It wasn't too strong though, and it wasn't insanely expensive, which is why I picked it. As a base for my homemade rosemary corn and caramel corn, it did the just. Good texture, eh flavor, which is I guess what you want for a base. Very filling snack and quick to make. Might be secretly bad for you though.
