MadeGood Granola Minis - Chocolate Chip

Yet more MadeGood snack-ums. This variety was surprisingly good! They had a noticeably crispy/firm texture, even though they are typically soft. I don't know why, though. You could taste the chocolate chips, which was nice. A good hearty chocolatey snack.

MadeGood Soft Baked Mini Cookies - Apple Cinnamon

A lot of this MadeGood stuff is pretty similar, but I'll always prefer it to the EnjoyLife equivalent because of the added VEGGIES (even if it's like one tiny pinch of veggie powder, which it probably is). This flavor of little orb was not bad, they had a good apple flavor, though mild, and a good springy texture. No real complaints.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch

Had this while in a hotel room with my mom for my grandparents' memorial service, post (or mid) covid, so not the most ready-to-enjoy-food setting all in all. Still, it's OK in a pinch -- sweet and tasty, but very unhealthy, and seems to get worse with time as you eat it, not better. The anti-wine, if you will.

Doritos 3D Crunch - Chili Cheese Nacho

3D Doritos?! What will they think of next, bugles? Anything 3D is fun to eat, at least in theory. But these taste like chili powder and fritos. Alas -- I do not like fritos.

Lancaster Brewing Co Strawberry Wheat Beer

Ah, my local brewery! I have fond feelings partially because I went to an event of theirs at State Line many moons ago, in my Grad School Peak, and I still have the pint glasses as a souvenir. You'd think a strawberry wheat beer would be amazing (or at least I would; I like wheat beers and fruity beers), but this was just OK. Definitely not as good as it could be. I guess I'd like more strawberry, and maybe even more sweetness. It's very "generic slightly stouty beer" to me. But I'm still a fan.

Ball Park Beef Hot Dogs

Yikes. These were not good, even in a hungry time. They taste like a burnt fatty meat hole. I don't know if it's the Ballpark or the beef, but either way, I'm staying away.

Enjoy Life Breakfast Ovals - Maple Fig

Despite maple not being one of my preferred flavors, this was pretty good! The fillingness and hearty texture of the breakfast oval form, and the taste was mostly just cinnamony, which I like.

Gushers - Strawberry Splash

I'm pretty sure this is the inferior gushers flavor, compared to the tropical one. It's so samey -- each gushers is identical! But, still a tasty nostalgia snack. A little bit like cherry pie filling as far as flavor notes, which is a nice sweet treat.

Lay's Crispy Taco Chips (2017 Limited Edition)

Yes, this review is 4 years late. No, I don't want to talk about it. Anyway, even though we all know I hate Lay's chips, I do like the limited flavor promotions they do/did. And these were pretty darn accurate to a taco bell ground beef-corn shell taco with cheese and sour cream. It smells not great, but the taste is good (if you like the aforementioned taco). I enjoyed them, although about halfway through the bag I began to enjoy them a lot less, so perhaps they're more of a novelty. But still tasty.

2020 Perdeberg 'Classic Collection' Chenin Blanc

This was another very tropical offering from the lads at Perdeberg! That classic pineapple juice flavor, grapefruit notes maybe. Definitely very sweet and tropical; I can see why Chenin Blanc (one 'N'!) is considered an acidic dessert wine. It is definitely acidic but not undrinkable. The second day made it a little bit less enjoyable; slightly muted flavor but not as much of a downgrade as with some other wines. Solid stuff, and nut free with a screw top, so I was happy on the whole.

Pop-Tarts - Frosted Crisp Apple

These were OK but not earth-shattering by any means. I still prefer brown sugar cinnamon flavor, I think. Very sweet, only mildly apply (and mildly crisp).

Lundberg Family Farms Risotto - Alfredo

This was pretty decent, even though risotto has never been a real hit for me. It took a long time to cook fully, I think because I lowered the heat too soon. The taste was good, like a nice alfredo noodle packet (with no soy!), although the texture was very paste/gruel/1800s to me. That's risotto for ya! I'd get this again, it went well with brocco and makes a lot of food.

Icee Popping Candy

The candysphere is truly vast. Somehow these have a nice allergy chart on their website, and they are nut free. The packets contain the tiniest little amount of candy crystals, but those crystals make a surprisingly biig pop! Big Popping Action! It's fun and, like champagne, a little bit scary. Flavorwise, the Blue Raspberry was pretty accurate to 'blue icee' vibes. Cherry was accurate as well, and cherry is a typical icee flavor, so I like that. Green apple, on the other hand, is not a typical icee flavor, so that was weird. It tasted like apple candy flavor, which is fine but not as fun. Then Orange was my favorite one, even though I've definitely also never had an orange icee. But it tasted like Flintstones Push Pops, which I adore.

2020 Chai de Bordes Rosé

This was good! My first instinct drinking warm: nice! Like a sweet summer drink. Fairly light, pleasant, not too acidic or bitter or sweet (but still a bit sweet). Very pleasant. Sadly, it was less good cold (or old), a little more acidic and less drinkable. Still drank it though, and don't get me wrong, it was better than most reds cold. Chai de Bordes is very mysterious like this.

Herr's Kettle Cooked Jalepeno Chips

These are good! They're a little tiny bit spicy, very easy to eat more than a serving of, and crunchy and not too thick. I think they're also nut free, or at least, I ate them. And they don't use peanut oil, so that's always good. Again, the slogan (make Herrs yours) disturbs me very much, but the chip here is good. I think basically all jalepeno flavored chips are good.

Stella Cidre

This was fine. When I started drinking as a young lass, I was all about ciders, but now they're way too sweet for my taste. But I like regular Stella beer, and I like that this is called "Cidre", and it's a liiiittle less sweet than an angry O or something. If there's one of these around, I'll drink it.

Flamin' Hot Crunchy Cheetos

More fake fiery stuff! Despite the name, not very fiery, and there's no discernible hot stuff in the ingredients. Yet I did get a slight burning sensation from these, which is interesting. The citric acid, maybe? Anyway, this basically just tastes like normal cheetos, but maybe slightly better or more interesting. Definitely a redder orange powder!

Dunkin' French Vanilla K-Cups

Hey, this was pretty good! As with most of the flavored K-Cups (except maybe pumpkin?) I don't think I'd like it enough to ever get more than one 22-pack, but it was better than I might have feared. Not super duper artificial like the restaurant flavoring, and not super sweet or strong either. Definitely vanilla flavored though.

Cheetos Flamin' Hot Puffs

OK Cheetos, the jig is up. None of these "fiery" snacks actually contain any spicy ingredients, like peppers or anything. So it's no surprise that these puffs are also not spicy, just covered in a dark red powder instead of orange. But that's OK, they're still a solid cheese puff snack. Good to eat and they don't even make you cry. Just a little misleading, maybe.

The Good Crisp - Sour Cream & Onion

Is the fact that these are called "crisps" and not "chips" nutritionally significant, or are the founders just Australian? We may never know. Anyway, these are a Pringle alternative, but free from lots of stuff (including nuts!). They still have potato in 'em though. Due to the tube and the safety, these are a lot of fun to eat. The taste didn't wow me -- they do taste like reconstituted potato flakes, a little tiny bit of a Lay's Cat Litter vibe. The sour cream and onion seasoning is good, but a little light for my taste. Overall a good snack, I'd definitely get the other flavors, but not as amazing as a chip could be. Also, the "no guilt" tagline makes me a little ':/' because all food should be no guilt! I gotta eat to live!

Jack Link's Original Beef Jerky

Aww, look at these cute little jerky bags. I must say, these taste very similar to the Teriyaki flavor. I guess that's beef + soy sauce for you. Maybe these were a little more enjoyable because I knew what I was in for, having eaten them second of the two flavors. I still wish the tiny little pieces were bigger though, even in a mini bag.

MadeGood Chocolate Drizzled Granola Bar - Cookie Crumble

This is both New and Out of Stock online, so I guess I was pretty lucky to try one! Like the other non-drizzled granola bars, this has chia and agave, but no sunflower. I ate it and did not perish. It reminded me a bit of the nut-free Giant brand granola bars, or Canadian Quaker granola bars (xoxo). Very oaty, pliable bar, somewhat chocolatey, mostly just "this is a granola bar" flavor. It's good in that sense -- not particularly "allergy-y", you know? So I did enjoy it. And it looks decadent with all the choco.

Chester's Flamin' Hot Fries

OK Chester, although they look flamin', these "fries" really aren't hot at all. They also aren't fries (or cheetos), they are a "corn and potato snack". Blessedly, they are more potatoey than corny. Even though they aren't super spicy, they're still a solid snack.

A La Mode - Maple Oat Crunch

This tasted like my mom's Coconut Cherry Chew cookies, which was a bit weird. I like the "oat crunch" part an awful lot. This also had a weird soft film on top, which might be a bad sign, but I liked the creamy texture of this one. It was tasty and good.

Wild Berry Skittles

Skittles are always fun. Ultimately these were a bit weird, and I don't know if I would prefer them to the OG Skittle mix, but they're still fun to try. The five flavors are as follows --

Wild Cherry - not my favorite, tastes like cherry cough syrup. 5/10

Strawberry - Just OK, a little medicinal, a little too sweet. 6/10

Berry Punch - These are the purple ones, and they're good -- similar to some other tropical candy, they taste like the store 'plant potpourri' smells, which is weird. Sweet. 6/10

Raspberry - A classic blue candy flavor! What wild berry should be all about. 7/10

Melon Berry - These are green and great, juicy! Not sure if melon is really a 'berry' though. Vibes of lime/lemon/melon. 7/10

Wishbone Thousand Island Dressing

Another college story for you: after a few months, I realised I could make a Turkey Club Supermelt dupe at the dining hall by stacking turkey, cheese, tomato, and thousand island dressing. The dressing was the key -- it really is a god-tier condiment, especially cold on a hot sandwich. Unfortunately, without any sandwich fixings at my house, it's kind of useless. It was OK on a cucumber, but not as good as ranch would have been. Honestly I don't know what to do with this outside of sandwich and salad, two not-home foods for me. Whoops.

Hidden Valley Ready-to-Eat Dip, Classic Ranch

Hidden Valley always makes me think of my college bud Alex, who hid ranch and said "Well, it's hidden valley". Ah, memories.

Anyway, this dip was fine. It's shelf stable (I guess), which is a good quality, but then it's more like a dressing than a dip and I think that came through here. It was weirdly sweet and not very milky. I don't know, but I think plain ranch dressing may be a better choice for a dip. Sorry, HV.

Unique Pretzel Shells

Hollow pretzels! What will they think of next. This bag looked hip and trendy, so I figured I'd be allergic to it, but it turns out I wasn't! Also, the pretzels tasted pretty good. Better then I thought -- more crunchy. Neat.
